In his nearly 40 years combined experience as a police officer, associate director of the Centre for Professional and Vocational Education, University of Canberra, and managing director of a registered training organisation, Garry has been directly involved in the professional development of 8000+ police and security officers, and other government investigators and private sector employees in similar or supportive roles.
In recognition of his knowledge and experience, and in particular his work in the skills development of those in the investigation and security professions, Garry was awarded associate membership of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), Washington DC, USA. More recently, Garry received a commendation from the Chief Minister of the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) for his work in developing specialist-training programs for compliance and enforcement officers and investigators employed in government agencies.
